About Pace
Get paid for the care
you already give.
Pace is Remote Therapeutic Monitoring for psychiatry — a payer-recognized way to bill for the work you do between visits, under Medicare and, increasingly, commercial plans, with patient-facing tools your patients actually want to use.
The Opportunity
The codes exist. Most platforms haven’t caught up.
In 2024 CMS finalized CPT 98978 — Remote Therapeutic Monitoring for cognitive-behavioral data. In the CY2026 Final Rule, CMS added the short-window code 98986 and a new treatment-management tier at 98979. Commercial payers increasingly recognize the same codes under their own policies. Together, they recognize what every solo psychiatrist already knows: care doesn’t pause between appointments, and the work of monitoring patients between visits has clinical and financial value.
Pace is built specifically around these codes. A patient does brief check-ins from any browser; you review on a 16-day cadence; Pace produces the audit-defensible documentation your billing team needs to submit the claim. A typical engaged patient generates roughly $145–170 per 30-day cycle in reimbursement, alongside whatever you’re already billing.
No new appointments. No staff additions. No EHR integration to wire up. Pace runs in parallel with your existing practice, turning your existing care into documented, billable encounters.
For Your Patients
A daily check-in that feels personal.
Pace was designed for the older patient — not the venture-app demographic. Quiet, photo-anchored, expressive rather than numeric.
📸
Photo-anchored check-ins
Each daily check-in starts with a photo your patient chose — their pet, their grandchild, a place that feels like home. The first thing they see is something they love.
🎨
Creative ways to gauge mood, not a number
The mood question rotates daily — weather, color, garden, body, energy. Patients tap a tile that fits the day instead of rating themselves on a clinical scale. The app translates internally for billing; the patient is expressing how they feel, not measuring.
✉️
Their letter to themselves
At onboarding, your patient writes a short note for the version of them reading it on a hard day. Pace surfaces it again when their mood has been low.
🌅
A warm Sunday reflection
Each week, a brief, plain-language note about how their week looked — never clinical, never numerical. Just witness.
For You
Clearer picture between visits.
Cleaner documentation at the end of the month.
📈
Trends, not noise
Open a patient and see PHQ-9 and GAD-7 trajectories alongside daily mood and sleep. A walk-in visit starts with context, not a re-baseline.
🛡
Real-time safety net
When a patient endorses suicidal ideation on PHQ-9, Pace cascades immediately to the Columbia C-SSRS in the same session and routes crisis-level results to inline 988 and crisis-line resources. You’re notified within minutes for active or behavior tiers.
🧾
Audit-defensible PDFs
At the end of each 30-day cycle, Pace produces the documentation your billing team needs: provider info, patient demographics, ICD-10, day-by-day data grid, clinician review-time log, suggested CPT codes with rationale.
⏱
30-minute setup
Sign up, verify your NPI, enroll your first patient. No IT involvement. Works on any browser. The whole onboarding is shorter than one of your initial consults.
Pace by NeuroMotive
Built on a clinical platform already in production.
Pace is a product of NeuroMotive — a clinical technology company whose first product, a reminiscence and cognitive-engagement platform for skilled-nursing facilities, has been in production with paying SNF customers since 2025.
Pace inherits that platform’s HIPAA-compliant infrastructure: encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access, append-only audit logging, BAA included, signed identity and clinical-content patterns used in daily practice across multiple facilities. The interface and workflow are purpose-built for outpatient psychiatry; the foundation underneath is already proven in regulated clinical use.
